Dear Jane
by Brenda Manges Papadakis

Have you always dreamed about making a Dear Jane quilt? Then we're happy to bring you a new monthly program to do just that.

For quite some time, Brenda's book has been out-of-print making it a challenge to offer this as a program.

But now, Electric Quilt has partnered with Brenda to create an add-on for EQ8 software that will provide the patterns you need to make the quilt.

NOTE: If you already own the book, you're welcome to participate in the program. If you do own the book, you know it shows line drawings of the blocks. If you want foundation paper piecing patterns or rotary cutting directions, then the software will generate that for you.

The download is available directly from EQ. So, go to the EQ site here & grab it.

You WILL need EQ 8 software to run the add-on.

If, by chance, you own the book, feel free to use it for the patterns. The book is out-of-print and we do not have access to any copies so you'll either need the software for the patterns and templates or a copy of the book that you can locate.

Now, on to the program details.

Many people enjoy recreating the Dear Jane quilt in 1800s reproduction fabrics. There are finally LOTS of  incredible new repro fabrics on the horizon & we'll use lots of them along with some of our favorites from current lines. Here's a sneak peek of some of the new prints we have on order.

We also think this quilt would be incredible in Edyta Sitar's fabrics with Super Bloom setting the colors and tone, but also pulling in her other coordinating lines from the last few months as well as several on the horizon and the Signature Style prints for backgrounds.

For our program, we'll be sending along backgrounds for each block individually and then along the way we'll send yardage of a sashing fabric to tie it all together.

The software will let you choose your favorite construction methods and you can print out templates, rotary cutting instructions or foundation paper piecing diagrams as appropriate. Our fabric kits will include enough fabric to use the method of your choice. The quilt finishes about 81" square.

This is an 19 month program. You'll make one row of blocks per month and then the sashing and then the four borders, alternate triangles and binding.

We hope to start this program in June depending on fabric shipments.

Order your choice of fabric kits here. Each monthly kit is $24.95 plus shipping. As always, add this to your existing BOM shipments to save on shipping.
