There are so many quilts to love in Yoko Saito’s phenomenal book Past & Present: My Quilting Life. Every project is just gorgeous. We know we have to feature some of them as kits or blocks of the month. So, our first choice is Sunflowers Road by Noriko Sakamoto.

Featuring stunning Japanese taupe fabrics along with an array of taupes & prints for the appliques, this quilt is a feast for the eyes. We’ll do our best to match the colors & fabrics shown so you can make your own version of this beauty.

The quilt finishes at 79 ½” x 87 ½”. You’ll need the book for the pattern. It includes full-size templates of all the shapes and pieces so no worries about enlarging things or finding a copier. This quilt will use a lot of Japanese taupes that typically retail for $15-20 per yard, so that definitely affects the cost of the program. If you’ve never worked with Japanese taupes, you are in for a treat—they have a remarkable, smooth hand and the most amazing colors.

You are making a commitment to purchase the entire set of patterns or kits. You have the choice of prepaying for the entire BOM or paying on a monthly basis.
