As promised, we’re thrilled to bring you another quilt project from Yoko Saito’s Past & Present: My Quilting Life.
This time, we’re featuring the ”Times Passed Away” quilt by Nobue Ishimori. Finishing at approximately 75” square, this quilt showcases the gorgeous Japanese taupes that we love along with coordinating prints & plaids in a fabulous taupe palette.
You’ll need the book to start. It includes full-size templates of all the shapes and pieces so no worries about enlarging things or finding a copier. The book retails for $ 59.95. Join our BOM & we’ll give you a 20% discount on the purchase price when we process your order. Order the book here.
We knew we wanted to offer this quilt as a BOM but we debated how to accommodate the metric measurements. Then, one of our brilliant customers, Joan T, suggested that we offer metric rulers!!! Of course! No converting between two measuring systems, just use a rotary cutting ruler like you are used to that has different numeric markings. We’re offering 3 sizes of rulers that will make this quilt a breeze and we’ll discount the retail price 25% for members of our BOM.
This will be a 15 month program. The first kits will ship in May, 2012. Reserve your spot now so you don’t miss out. This quilt will use a lot of Japanese taupes that typically retail for $ 15-20 per yard, so that definitely affects the cost of the program. If you’ve never worked with Japanese taupes, you are in for a treat—they have a remarkable, smooth hand and the most amazing colors. We’ll follow the color plan shown as closely as possible.
Monthly kits will be $ 25.95. Reserve your spot now.
