Golden’s Journal

Make 20 sampler blocks honoring prairie farm life in your choice of two colorways and then select your favorite from 3 different setting options in our newest monthly program.

Golden’s Journal includes diary entries and photos of Kaye Spitzli’s grandmother as she lived on a Kansas farm beginning in the early 1900s. Blending history, family & delightful quilting, you’ll enjoy the journey of this family as much as the quilting.

You’ll need the book, Golden’s Journal, to work on the project. Normally retailing for $25.95, program participants will receive a 20% discount on their book purchase. Order it here.

Then for ten months, you will receive block kits to make two of the sampler blocks for a total of twenty blocks. Select either 1930s prints or prairie farm colors which will include a variety of fabrics from designers such as Kansas Troubles, Brannock & Patek, Thimbleberries & more.

Monthly block kits are just $10.50 plus shipping. The first kits will ship in January, 2008.

Finally, we’re offering three different setting options for your blocks. If you elect to purchase your setting kit now, you will receive it in January, 2008 at a 20% discount off regular retail. After December 31, 2007, setting kits will be available only at full retail price. While the pictures may show a setting option in only one colorway, you may select it even if you are doing the other colorway for your blocks & we will kit it for you with appropriate fabrics.

Setting choices are:

Dogwood Nine Patch, finishing at 88” x 102”, regularly $110.25, but available to those ordering before December 31, 2007 at a 20% discount or $88.20. Discount will be applied when we process your order at the store.
Log Pile Border, finishing at 68” x 83”, regularly $63, but available to those ordering before December 31, 2007 at a 20% discount or $50.40. Discount will be applied when we process your order at the store.
Courthouse Steps, finishing at 89” x 112”, regularly $136.25, but available to those ordering before December 31, 2007 at a 20% discount or $109.00. Discount will be applied when we process your order at the store.

All of our Special Programs or Monthly Programs require a commitment from you for the length of the program. Signing up for a Block of the Month is the same as putting a "quilt" on lay-away. You are making a commitment to purchase the entire set of patterns or kits. You have the choice of prepaying for the entire BOM or paying on a monthly basis. There are NO exceptions to this rule, so please don't ask if you can discontinue a program once you've joined in.
