Away from Home

Nancy Rink's new book, Away From Home, is woven from the diaries and letters of Lowell, Massachusetts, Mill Girls and the history of the textile factories where they worked. The featured sampler quilt has an appliqued center depicting two of the Mill Girls surrounded by nine pieced and appliqued blocks.

Finishing at 100" square, this quilt is sure to become a treasured heirloom.

We'll be offering this as a monthly program, with the first kits set to ship in September, 2012. Kits will feature the fabrics shown which were designed by Judie Rothermel.

To make the quilt, you'll need the pattern which is part of the upcoming book, Away from Home.
Order it here and if you join the program, we'll give you 25% off the book when we ship. Regular retail is $25.95; your discounted price will be $19.46.

Then
reserve your spot in the monthly program. This will be a 12 month program. The first kits will ship in October as we are waiting on additional fabric and each kit will be $24.95. By the end, you'll have everything needed for the top and binding.

All of our Special Programs or Monthly Programs require a commitment from you for the length of the program. Signing up for a Block of the Month is the same as putting a "quilt" on lay-away". You are making a commitment to purchase the entire set of patterns or kits. You have the choice of prepaying for the entire BOM or paying on a monthly basis. There are NO exceptions to this rule, so please don't ask if you can discontinue a program once you've joined in.

Most programs have an optional finishing or sashing kit which you may decide to purchase at the end of the program. We'll give you details on the finishing kit as the program is winding down & you may decide then what to do.
